The FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping is a prestigious, international show jumping competition comprising a range of trials where the best countries contend against one another in teams during some of the greatest competitions in the world. The competitions take place between February and October in different countries. Longines is the Official Timekeeper of this series.
This CSIO-5* is one of the biggest equestrian events in Switzerland, and takes place in mid-January at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel. Over the years, the Longines CSI Basel has established itself as one of the major indoor international events, welcoming the best riders in the world. The three days of competition culminate with the flagship competitive event – the Longines Grand Prix.
Each year, Longines presents The President of the UAE Showjumping Cup alongside a leg of the FEI Nations Cup™. Held on several days, this event, timed by Longines, offers the audience a range of exciting competitions, including CSIO-5*, and attract riders from around the world.
It is now many years since the first equestrian event in La Baule in 1931! Today, the Grand Prix CSIO-5* Longines de la Ville de La Baule – a meeting of the FEI Nations Cup™ – is the culmination of the Longines Jumping International La Baule which, year after year, remains a “must” for the world’s leading riders. World champions, Olympic champions or world no. 1s – the greatest names have achieved great things in the François-André Stadium.
After several events in Brazil, the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show is now held in France. This exceptional event comprising CSIO-5* trials takes place on the highly famous Pampelonne beach in Ramatuelle on the St. Tropez peninsula. Combining glamour and sport of the highest level, this three-day competition is spectacular especially with the Grand Prix Longines that is reserved for the 35 best international couples of the competition.
The St. Gallen show jumping competition was a rural meeting when it started in 1909, but from 1953 on it gained in importance as competitors from other countries were allowed to enter. As a meeting of the FEI Nations Cup™, the Longines CSIO-5* Schweiz has been held in St. Gallen each year since 2006, originally being shared by St. Gallen and Lucerne in alternate years. The prestigious Grand Prix Longines, the true apotheosis of the CSIO, traditionally takes place on the final day and alone draws no fewer than 18’000 spectators.
Held on the vast fields of Ascona’s former airport, the Longines CSI Ascona, a renowned international horse riding competition, brings together the best horse riders in the world. Four days entirely dedicated to horse riding, for a sports program of the highest level which takes place every year in July.
A series of prestigious indoor equestrian events, the Longines Masters is comprised of three stages on three different continents – Asia, America and Europe. As Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the events, Longines will be attending the three stages of the series in Paris, Hong Kong and, for this new season, New York. In each of the three competitions, the Longines Speed Challenges provide some of the best action and excitement. On the occasion of each leg, the watch brand also presents the Longines Grand Prix.
Longines reinforced its worldwide commitment to equestrian sports by becoming, in 2016, the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Jumping Longines Crans-Montana. This event which takes place in summer in the heart of the Valais, features high-level equestrian sports, whose values such as the elegance are in line with the ones dear to the Swiss watch company.
It was in 1960 that the first All England Jumping Course was held in
Hickstead and the following decades would see a rapid series of major events. Since 2003 Hickstead hosts a CSIO-5* competition, which is today a meeting of the FEI Nations Cup™. This prestigious gathering, including notably the Longines Royal International Horse Show, is one of the oldest in the world as well as one of the most important equestrian events in the United Kingdom.
The CSI A Coruña was founded in 2 000 as a result of the creation of the prestigious Casas Novas Equestrian Centre. Due to the rapid international recognition, it has been holding two annual editions: an outdoor one in July and an indoor one in December. The Casas Novas Equestrian Center hosted, for the first time in 2016, the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping Western European League, one of the most renowned jumping competition.
The Hampton Classic Horse Show is one of the most important show jumping events in the United States. First organised in the 1900s, it is today known simply as “ The Classic”. Longines is closely associated with this prestigious event, notably as Official Timekeeper, Official Watch and Official Partner. The brand also presents the Longines Cup as well as the Longines Rider Challenge, a prize awarded to the rider with the most points after a range of trials.
Created by the Chinese Equestrian Association, of which Longines has been an Official Partner and Timekeeper since 2014, the Longines China Tour constitutes four stages which are run successively in Dalian, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. These competitions bring together the best horse riders in the country as well as some ten international horse riders who are invited specially to the event, amongst whom are Olympic champions or horse riders from the “ Top 30” in the world.
The Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters were launched in 2011 with the support of the Swiss watch brand Longines, which is the event’s Title Partner and Official Timekeeper. The first competition took place in the impressive “ Bird’s Nest” national stadium in Beijing which can hold 80,000 spectators, and saw ten international horse riders and thirty top Chinese riders participate. In 2014, the event became a CSI-3*.
The International Longines Horse-Show of Lausanne is organised by the Association Suisse de Concours Hippiques in partnership with the City of Lausanne and the Canton of Vaud on the Place Bellerive in Lausanne.
With eight trials counting for the world rankings of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, it features a CSI-5*, coupled with a CSI -2* and international trials for young riders under the age of 25.
Formed in 1902, the CSIO Barcelona is the oldest sporting event of international stature in Spain. Taking place in facilities provided by the
Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, the event attracts riders from more than fifteen countries every year. Barcelona has hosted the finals of the FEI Nations Cup™ since 2013, three days of performances at
the highest level. Moreover, Longines also presents the Longines Cup of the City of Barcelona.
Created back in 2006 by the former Dutch Olympic champion Jan Tops, the Longines Global Champions Tour features fifteen outdoor legs held in twelve countries. With record purses, this series invites the best riders to compete in the exceptional setting of the most beautiful cities around the globe, such as Mexico City, Miami Beach, Shanghai, Madrid, Chantilly, Paris, London, Berlin or Roma. This competition, of which Longines became the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper in 2013, is an unmissable event in today’s equestrian calendar.
As part of its strong and long-lasting commitment to equestrian sports, Longines partners for the first time the Longines FEI European Championships. Held every two years, these championships are taking place in 2017 in Gothenburg (Sweden). Staged from 21 to 27 August 2017, the action-packed week-long fixture will bring together 300 athletes from four different disciplines – Jumping, Dressage, Driving and Para-Equestrian Dressage – as equestrian sport takes over the Swedish city, transforming it into a massive competition venue. As the Title Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch, the watchmaking brand will lend its know-how and expertise to this renowned multi-discipline event.
