It’s an intense mental challenge each weekend as ski technicians finely tune skis, physical therapists nurse muscles and world class athletes focus mentally on the challenge ahead – all the while chasing the World Cup crystal globe.
Alpine ski racing is a sport of speed and precision. Highly skilled athletes test their mental and physical strength, putting the micro thin band of their metal ski edges into the icy slope with only a nano second separating them from victory. As the Official Timekeeper of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Longines is a constant of time as the White Season tour hops across the mountain tops of the world’s most notable alpine resorts over a grueling six-month tour. Every weekend, tens of thousands of sport fans pack venues like Beaver Creek, St.Moritz, Wengen and Kitzbühel. Tens of millions more are glued to their smartphones and televisions around the globe.

It’s an intense mental challenge each weekend as ski technicians finely tune skis, physical therapists nurse muscles and world class athletes focus mentally on the challenge ahead all the while chasing the World Cup crystal globe. Longines Ambassadors of Elegance Mikaela Shiffrin and Aksel Lund Svindal are among the best in the world, standing often on race podiums and frequently clutching crystal at the end of a nearly 40-race season for both men and women. They are the embodiment of the sporting principles of Longines – precision and determination on the slopes with engaging personalities marked by style and elegance in their lifestyle.

This February, athletes will face the penultimate challenge competing for gold, silver and bronze medals at the FIS Alpine World Ski Champion- ships, where Longines will be Official Timekeeper, racing down the slopes of the magical Åreskutan in Åre, Sweden.

Longines is honored to be engaged with such a distinguished sport as alpine ski racing. It is a commitment from the winged hourglass brand that spans generations, ever focused on the future. Longines has long established that support through organisation of competitions for budding stars and recognizing young athletes who represent the true values of sportsmanship and fair play. Athletes are an inspiration for the excellence that is embodied in the Longines brand.

The same is true on the snow-covered ice in the elegant Swiss resort of St. Moritz where skiing meets equestrian as horses and jockey thunder through the cold winter air in White Turf. Since 1907, White Turf has been one of the highlights of the Engadine winter calendar each February. Longines is proud to be the Main Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of White Turf St. Moritz.

Welcome to the White Season.
