    Longines is Official Partner, Official Chronometer and Official Watch of the FEI. The watch brand also is the Title Partner of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ - Western European League. At Sunday’s spectacular Swiss leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ - Western European League, the best pair was Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Clooney who imposed themselves over Marc Houtzager (NED) on Sterrehof's Calimero and Pieter Devos (BEL) on Apart respectively second and third. The winner was presented with an elegant Longines timepiece to celebrate her victory.   At the Longines Grand Prix on Friday, Niels Bruynseels (BEL) on Delux van T & L won the competition, followed by Marc Houtzager (NED) on Sterrehof's Calimero and Philippe Rozier (FRA) on Cristallo A Lm.   The Longines CSI Basel is the perfect setting for Longines to present the Official Watch of this year’s event, an elegant model from the Record collection that features a mother-of-pearl dial and is set with diamonds. The Record range combines classic elegance and excellence, aspiring to become the spearheads of the brand. Each of its calibers includes a single-crystal silicon balance spring with unique properties and is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).   The partnership between the brand and the Longines CSI Basel reinforces the brand’s traditional commitment in equestrian sports and make it a major player in this field. Longines has been associated with the equestrian world since its inception. The oldest known Longines watch decorated with equestrian motifs dates from 1869, and ushered in a handsome series of equestrian-themed pocket watches. The brand’s early ties with horses encouraged the watchmakers of Saint-Imier to pursue advances in sports timekeeping for equestrian competitions. In 1878, the winged hourglass brand developed its first chronograph movement, the legendary 20H.     Jumping

    This weekend, the Longines China Tour in Guangzhou was marked by the victory of French rider Olivier Guillon on Cognac du Vlist Z in the Longines Grand Prix. He was followed by China’s Tongyan Liu on Yu Long Qi Ki and Hong Kong’s Patrick Lam on Freedom. The French rider also claimed the Longines Challenge on Saturday, and Jeroen De Winter and Zafira and Maodong Yuan on Syrius du Bocoage finished second and third respectively. The Swiss watch brand Longines is the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines China Tour and as such, the brand highlighted a lady model from the Record collection as the Official Watch of the event in Guangzhou. Featuring a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond indexes, this watch is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

    The Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to present the HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup as the Official Partner, Timekeeper and Watch of the event. The 160-kilometer race, featuring some of the top names from the world of endurance riding, was claimed by HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Patrick Aoun, Brand Manager of Longines Middle East, presented His Highness’s winning connections, including Abdulla Ghanim Al Marri (F3 Stables) and Khalifa Ghanim Al Marri (trainer).   The Official Watch of the event was a model of the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” model, which represents a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance. Featuring a blue dial, this model is equipped with an exclusive movement renowned for its high degree of precision for an analog watch (± 5 seconds/year) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field.     Commonwealth Games

    Today, on Australia Day 2018, Longines Ladies Award recipient Michelle Payne ran with the Queen’s Baton in Canberra, Australia. The Baton was previously in New Zealand and arrived in Australia on 24 December. On this occasion, the successful Australian jockey was wearing the Conquest V.H.P. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, featuring the colours of this unique international sporting event. As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the XXI Commonwealth Games, Longines was proud to launch this special edition of the Conquest V.H.P. model, which is meant as a tribute to this multi-sport event where athletes from seventy Commonwealth nations and territories will gather. Longines is the Official Partner of the Queen’s Baton Relay, which will be traveling for 68 more days across Australia before the beginning of the Commonwealth Games on 4 April 2018.

    Zurich (Switzerland) / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), 26 January 2018 – After an exciting competition, Martin Fuchs (CH) and Clooney are the winning team of the Longines Grand Prix at this year’s Mercedes-Benz CSI Zurich. The Swiss watch brand supported the last edition of this event as Title Partner and Official Timekeeper and presented the Official Watch of the event, a model from “The Longines Master Collection”.   Numerous visitors witnessed this 5-star event and admired the performances of the world’s best riders and horses. At Friday’s spectacular Longines Grand Prix, the highlight of the Mercedes-Benz CSI Zurich, the best pair was the Swiss rider Martin Fuchs on Clooney who imposed themselves over Luca Maria Moneta (IT) on Connery and Bertram Allen (IR) on Gin Chin van het Lindenhof, respectively second and third. The winner was presented with an elegant Longines timepiece to celebrate his victory.

    Horse Racing

    The Longines World’s Best Racehorse and Longines World’s Best Horse Race Ceremony is returning to the iconic hotel Claridge’s in London, England, and it will begin at 14:00 GMT/9:00 EST.  This will be the fifth ceremony honouring the Longines World’s Best Racehorse. Previous winners include Arrogate (USA) in 2016, American Pharoah (USA) in 2015, Just A Way (JPN) in 2014, and Australia’s Black Caviar and France’s Treve, who were jointly celebrated in 2013. Furthermore, this year marks the third time the Longines World’s Best Horse Race will be awarded. The Longines World’s Best Horse Race award recognizes the best-rated race of the highest-rated Group 1 international races as established for the year by a panel of international handicappers. The ratings of the top four finishers in each race serve as basis for the assessment. The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe was the inaugural winner in 2015, while the Breeders’ Cup Classic won in 2016.

    Endurance

    Renowned Swiss watchmaker Longines presented another successful edition of the HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup, which took place on the 6th of January at the Dubai International Endurance City. The international event featured some of the top names from the world of endurance riding competing over a distance of 160 km. It began at dawn on Saturday and consisted of five stages of decreasing length at the purpose-built Dubai International Endurance City course. The eventual winner, Saif Almazrouei, who won aboard Nopoli Del Ma, was granted an elegant Longines timepiece in recognition of his remarkable performance.   On the occasion of the race day, Longines offered to the public the opportunity to discover the Official Watch of the event, a model from The Longines Master Collection, featuring a sunray blue dial. This fashionable chromatic variation is perfectly in line with the classic and understated spirit of this collection and is complimented by a blue alligator strap.

    On 23 January 2018, during a ceremony held at the hotel Claridge’s in London, the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines and its long-term Partner the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) will honour the three highest-rated horses in the Longines World’s Best Rankings as well as the Longines World’s Best Horse Race. Before this glamorous equestrian rendezvous, the vase of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse and the trophy of the Longines World’s Best Horse Race – which represents a proud horse head – can now be seen at the Longines Boutique of London at 411 Oxford Street. During the ceremony, the connection of the three winning horses and the representative of the Longines World’s Best Horse Race will be granted elegant Longines timepieces.%break%The Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings are established by international handicappers according to the performance of the horses in top races. The highest rated race is determined by averaging the rankings of the first four placed horses.     On 27 January 2018, Luis Alejandro Plascencia O (MEX) on Davinci finished first at the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping North American League Guadalajara in The Guadalajara Country Club. The competition was a podium sweep for Mexico for the first leg of 2018 with the second place taken by Gustavo Ramos on Izzy Miaki followed by compatriot Francisco Pasquel on Naranjo.   On this occasion, the winner was granted with an elegant Longines timepiece as a reward for his great win. The Swiss watch brand is the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping North American League series.
