    On Wednesday, October 31st, Longines opened its newest shop inside the Las Vegas’ Tourbillon Boutique, located in the CityCenter Complex. Longines’ Ambassadors of Elegance Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf were present to celebrate this particular event in one of Las Vegas most prestigious watch lover’s temple. With this new opening, the brand invites customers to discover Longines elegant collections and exclusive universe, made up of Elegance, Performance and Tradition.   From its very earliest moments, in the 1830’s, Longines has forged strong ties with the United States. Today, the brand counts more than 300 points of sales all over the country. Furthermore, the winged hourglass brand is a trusted partner for many sporting competitions across America, from equestrian events to skiing and gymnastics. Longines has also worked with celebrities who embody brand’s values and image of elegance, including American tennis legend Andre Agassi, who now works to improve access to education and the lives of disadvantaged children through his Las Vegas-based foundation, and Stefanie Graf who works to help children and families who are victims of war, persecution and violence through her Hamburg-based foundation, Children for Tomorrow.   This Wednesday, the owners of the limited “Conquest V.H.P. Stefanie Graf & Andre Agassi Foundations” timepieces, auctioned this summer to commemorate ten years of partnership between the two tennis legends and the brand, were also invited to attend Longines’ inauguration in the Tourbillon Boutique. On November 1st, the generous donors will have the chance to visit the Democracy Prep Academy at Agassi Campus, before officially receiving their numbered watch sets from the hands of Andre Agassi himself.

    Longines this week announced its partnership with Deauville, which also includes a collaboration with the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines. Indeed, the Swiss watch brand is proud and honoured to be the Official Partner of the French seaside resort, which has been decked out with Longines clocks. The latter can be admired along the iconic coastal promenade in front of the famous Planches. Besides, the Swiss watch brand is delighted to have been, for the first time, the Official Partner of the photo competition la 25ème heure Longines. This event, which takes place every year when the clocks go back and invites participants to take a snapshot of the town between midnight and 1am to immortalize this special 25th hour of the day. The ritual of switching between summer and wintertime reflects one of the technical characteristics of Longines’ latest innovation, the Conquest V.H.P. GMT Flash Setting, which is also the Official Watch of this event. This timepiece controls automatically the change between summer and winter time all around the world. Real technological innovation based on quartz, this timepiece is a must for travel lovers. It allows you to easily change time zone either manually, following watchmaking tradition, or by using the smart ‘Flash Setting’ system that sets the watch using flash pulses from a smartphone, which does not require external connection.     On Saturday 27 October 2018, talented American jumping rider Elizabeth Madden on Breitling LS claimed the sixth leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League held during the Washington International Horse Show. She was followed by her compatriots Katherine A. Sinan on Dougie Douglas and Lucy Davis on Caracho who arrived second and third respectively. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM North American League series, Longines was delighted to grant the winner with an elegant timepiece as a reward for her great win.

    On Sunday 28 October 2018, German rider Daniel Deusser and his mount Calisto Blue claimed the third leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM held in Verona. Niels Bruynseels (BEL) on Gancia de Muze took the second place followed by Switzerland’s Martin Fuchs on Clooney 51. As the Title Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Western European League series, Longines was proud to present the winner with an elegant timepiece as a reward for his great win.

    As the Official Partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Longines is proud to put its expertise in sports timekeeping to use in the realms of alpine skiing for the trials of the FIS World Cup and the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. As the preferred partner of the world of skiing, the brand is presenting a new model from its Conquest sports collection, customised by its Ambassador of Elegance Mikaela Shiffrin, with whom Longines has just extended a long-term contract. This new model was unveiled today as part of the FIS Forum held in Sölden, Austria, on the eve of the first races of the FIS World Cup, and in the presence of the brand’s President, Walter von Känel.  The blue aventurine dial of the Conquest Chronograph by Mikaela Shiffrin, along with hints of red on the chronograph’s flange and hands, evoke the colours of the American flag, honoring the skier's home country and her famous ski suit. For the first time, Longines is offering a dial made of aventurine, a fine gemstone with colours that shift and come to life under variations in light. The glitter evokes the sparkling snow cover which drapes the ski slopes carved out by this champion. Moreover, the caseback of this timepiece features a special engraving that shows Mikaela Shiffrin’s silhouette, along with her signature.   Longines, in keeping with its desire to support the next generation of athletes, is pleased to award the Longines Rising Ski Stars prize, which goes to the top female skier under 21 and the top male skier under 23 during the FIS World Cup season. Winners will receive a Longines watch, a trophy and a cheque at the end of the season, which will wrap up in Soldeu, Andorra, in March 2019.

    Longines was pleased to kick off the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races with the Longines Night Races at Happy Valley Racecourse today. This is the second year the renowned Swiss watchmaker serves as the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of The Longines Cup. Longines also designated the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” timepiece, representing a new achievement in the field of quartz and combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, as the Official Watch of the event.   The Longines Cup, the fifth race of the evening, was claimed by Beaut Beaut ridden by jockey Matthew Poon Ming-Fai in 00:57:36. The winning owner, jockey, and trainer each received an elegant LONGINES timepiece, presented by Ms. Karen Au Yeung, Vice President of Longines Hong Kong.   The Longines Night Race was graced by the presence of famous Hong Kong actress Tracy Chu, who said, “I am honoured and thrilled to experience the excitement promised by a Longines race for the first time. As horse racing and watchmaking demand the highest degree of precision in terms of timekeeping, and the newly launched Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” timepiece is the ideal choice for this grand occasion. German rider Hans-Dieter Dreher and his mount Embassy II arrived second followed by Sweden’s Peder Fredricson on Hansson WI. As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ series, Longines was proud to grant the winning rider with an elegant Longines watch as a reward of her great performance.     The Swiss watch brand Longines, Main Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of Ascot Racecourse, was proud to provide its timekeeping expertise to the five thrilling races of the QIPCO British Champions Day, including the QIPCO British Champions Stakes, claimed by Craksman led by 2015 Longines World’s Best Jockey Frankie Dettori. This much-anticipated race day, which concludes the British flat racing season, was also marked by the celebration of the Flat Season Owners’ Championship title, claimed again this year by Godolphin. The Thoroughbred horseracing stable was represented by Hugh Anderson, Managing Director for UK & Dubai, and Sam Bullard, Director of Stallions, who received a Longines timepiece as well as a trophy form the hands of Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing.   In addition, the QIPCO British Champions Day was the opportunity for the brand to host an official presentation of its Longines Tracking System – first inaugurated in June during Royal Ascot and currently in use at Ascot racecourse – to selected members of horse racing world and press. This game-changing technology provides instant data on the exact position of horses during a race, race rankings, the distance between horses as well as their acceleration and deceleration, and measures the horses’ covered and remaining distance in the race. In addition to these features improving the experience for both racing professionals and spectators, the system does not require any permanent installation on the racecourse, as it is entirely based on satellite data. This enables racecourses located in protected historical or natural sites to be equipped with such advanced technology.   The Official Watch of the QIPCO British Champions Day was a model from the Record collection, featuring a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond indexes.
