Lilli-Marie Engels and Alberto Berton are the great winners of the 2018 Longines World FEGENTRI Championship for Lady and Gentlemen riders

This year again, the Swiss watch brand Longines had the pleasure to attend the Gala dinner of the 2019 FEGENTRI’s General Assembly (International Federation of Gentlemen and Lady Riders), held in Saint Moritz. During the evening, Longines, represented by Christophe Jeanneret, Brand Manager Swiss, and the FEGENTRI, represented by its President Elie Hennau, had the honor to reward Germany’s Lilli-Marie Engels, winner of the 2018 Longines World FEGENTRI Championship for Lady Riders and Italy’s Alberto Berton, winner of the 2018 Longines World FEGENTRI Championship for Gentlemen Riders. They both received Longines timepieces in recognition for their great performances.

As a brand strongly committed to the equestrian world, Longines supports amateur riders and is the Official Partner and Watch of the FEGENTRI. It also lends its name to the World Championships for male and female riders and to the corresponding rankings, that is: the Longines World FEGENTRI Championship Rankings for Lady Riders and the Longines World FEGENTRI Championship Rankings for Gentlemen Riders.

Longines’ passion for equestrian sport dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. Three years later, it can be found on American racecourses, adopted by horse enthusiasts. In 1912, the company partnered for the first time with an international show jumping competition. Today Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show-jumping, flat racing, endurance, driving, dressage and eventing competitions.
