Laura Kraut (USA) wins the Longines Grand Prix of St. Moritz

August 30, 2015

The new Longines CSI St. Moritz belongs to the most altitudinous show jumping events of Switzerland and Europe. The enthusiastic crowd enjoyed the very unique atmosphere of the mountain area of the Engadin and witnessed equestrian sports at its highest level. The Longines Grand Prix of St. Moritz – one of the highlights of the event - was won by Laura Kraut from the USA and her gelding Deauville S. She was followed by Swiss rider Niklaus Rutschi with Windsor XV on the second and Kamal Abdullah Bahamdan from Saudi Arabia with Noblesse des Tess on the third place. The winner received an elegant Longines watch from the brand’s President Walter von Känel.

The Official Watch of the Longines CSI St. Moritz was a model of the Conquest Classic Moonphase line. This chronograph reflects at the same time the brand’s presence in the most prestigious equestrian events all over the world and the importance it attaches to its watchmaking tradition. It houses a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement, a true symbol of precision and technique. Its refined silvered dial displays the moon phases.

The international show jumping event Longines CSI St. Moritz will reach CSI*****, the highest-level of competition, in 2016. It is now part of the exclusive equestrian events Longines supports all over the world. The brand’s passion for these sports dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. Today Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show jumping, flat racing and eventing competitions.
