Winner of the Longines Grosser Preis von Baden Best Solution celebrated by Longines

For the eighth consecutive year, the Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to time the Longines Grosser Preis von Baden, the highlight of the “Great Festival Week” and one of the most important horse racing events in Germany, held on the Iffezheim racecourse. The featured 2’400-meter race was claimed by Best Solution – winner of the 2018 Longines Grosser Preis von Berlin in August – while Defoe and Iquitos finished second and third. The winning owner Godolphin, trainer Saeed bin Suroor and jockey Pat Cosrave were presented elegant timepieces from the hands of Rainer Eckert, Brand Manager Longines Germany.

Additionally, the brand hosted its inimitable Longines Prize for Elegance, celebrating sartorial elegance and glamorous style surrounding the renowned event. An eminent panel of jury selected Anja Weser as the prize winner, and she was awarded with a model from the Conquest Classic collection.

As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the Longines Grosser Preis von Baden, Longines highlighted a gent model from the Record collection. Displaying a white matt dial with painted roman numerals, this timepiece is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

Longines’ passion for equestrian sport dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. Three years later, it can be found on American racecourses, adopted by horse enthusiasts. In 1912, the company partnered for the first time with an international show jumping competition. Today Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show-jumping, flat racing, endurance, driving, dressage and eventing competitions.
