A Longines Irish Champions Weekend filled with elegance and racing excellence

Racing enthusiasts from across the world turned out in style from September 9th to 10th for the Longines Irish Champions Weekend, of which the Swiss watch brand is the Title Partner and Official Watch.

The first race day, which took place in Leopardstown, saw the victory of Decorated Knight ridden by Andrea Atzeni in the much-awaited QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes. At Curragh on Sunday, the Comer Group International Irish St. Leger was claimed by Order of St George and 2014 & 2016 Longines World’s Best Jockey Ryan Moore.

The winning connections of these two featured races were rewarded with an elegant Longines timepiece from the hands of Maxim de Turckheim, Brand Manager of Longines UK.

The Longines Irish Champions weekend is the first leg of a European Triple Crown of championship meetings leading into the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe meeting held at Chantilly in early October and QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot two weeks later.
