Multiple world record and commonwealth records honoured at longines records club

Nigerian athlete Esther Oyema was honored at the final Longines Record Ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games at Longines Records Club on the last day of competition. Esther Oyema, who lifted a very impressive 131kg in the woman’s para powerlifting up to 50kg event, was presented a limited edition Conquest V.H.P. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games watch. She is one of nine athletes and teams to break world records during the Commonwealth Games. Longines Vice President Charles Villoz, presented the watch to the athlete, as well as a certificate of achievement a donation in her name to UNICEF.

A number of Commonwealth Games Records were also honoured at the ceremony, with athletes presented with a certificate of achievement and a donation in their name to UNICEF.

Over 100 Commonwealth Games records were broken during the Games.

Longines is proud to have been the Official Timekeeper of Gold Coast 2018 and is looking forward to the next edition of the Commonwealth Games, which will take place in 2022 in Birmingham, England.
