On January 23, Longines and its long-term partner the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) will present the 2018 Longines World’s Best Racehorse and Longines World’s Best horse Race Awards at the Landmark hotel in London. For the sixth consecutive year, the ceremony will honour the three highest-rated horses in the Longines World’s Best Rankings as well as the Longines World’s Best Horse Race.

To announce this glamorous equestrian rendezvous, the crystal vase of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse, as well as the trophy of the Longines World’s Best Horse Race – which represents a proud horse head – are currently displayed in the Longines Boutique of London at 411 Oxford Street, until January 22.

The Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings are established by international handicappers according to the performance of the horses in top races. The highest rated race is determined by averaging the rankings of the first four placed horses. The full list and further information on the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings are both available on the IFHA website

Longines’ passion for equestrian sport dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. Three years later, it can be found on American racecourses, adopted by horse enthusiasts. In 1912, the company partnered for the first time with an international show jumping competition. Today Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show-jumping, flat racing, endurance, driving, dressage and eventing competitions.
